Back by popular demand for an 11th year, we asked members of the high school Class of 2024 in the first installment of a Sunday miniseries: What are the top three items on your 10-year bucket list?

Big 10: High school seniors' 10-year bucket lists, Part 1 (1)

1. Graduate from medical school and become a radiologist. I want to help as many people as I possibly can.

2. Become a homeowner. I want to be able to build my own house and make a home out of nothing.

3. Travel the world. Traveling is very important to me and exploring the world is such a beautiful experience.

Big 10: High school seniors' 10-year bucket lists, Part 1 (2)

1. Graduate college with a fancy-schmancy degree. One that after you say it, or what you do, people are like “Wow, she’s smart!”

2. I want to swim in all four oceans, starting with a trip to Hawaii, and swim with the dolphins.

3. Last, when it isn’t too far away, I want to go to the summer track and field Olympics.

Big 10: High school seniors' 10-year bucket lists, Part 1 (3)

1. I want to be able to fly a plane by myself. I want to learn everything about planes and be able to take my own anywhere I want and just fly around the state.

2. I want to visit every NFL stadium. I love football and going to every stadium would be a cool experience to see the difference between all of them.

3. I want to visit Yellowstone National Park. I am intrigued by mountains and big rivers, so going to Yellowstone would be awesome. I also really like the show “Yellowstone” so going to the actual park would be a great experience.

Big 10: High school seniors' 10-year bucket lists, Part 1 (4)

1. Complete my early childhood development degree in Ireland, possibly completing my undergrad in animation, as well.

2. Travel the world and help people less fortunate than me. I want to make a difference in this world.

3. Create an animation project. I’ve always been interested in animation so creating my own little project that combines early childhood education and animation would be my ultimate goal.

Big 10: High school seniors' 10-year bucket lists, Part 1 (5)

1. I hope to get my degree in photography. After that, I want to start up my own photography business.

2. I want to get married and eventually begin a family. Along with this, we will live on a farm around our hometown to remain close to our families.

3. Lastly, I would love to visit as many states as possible.

Big 10: High school seniors' 10-year bucket lists, Part 1 (6)

1. Have my own classroom. I plan to study art education at Danville Area Community College and Eastern Illinois.

2. Travel to Denver. I’ve been before and really enjoyed exploring and seeing the beautiful scenery.

3. See Clairo in concert. They are my favorite musical artist.

Big 10: High school seniors' 10-year bucket lists, Part 1 (7)

1. Travel to another country, preferably somewhere warm, to see the different cultures, historical places and environments — somewhere like the Maldives, Australia or Italy.

2. Visit as many national parks as possible, like a national park road trip. I really want to go hiking through Rocky Mountain National Park.

3. Go scuba diving, snorkeling or deep-sea fishing. It would be cool to see the Great Barrier Reef.

Big 10: High school seniors' 10-year bucket lists, Part 1 (8)

1. Attend a lantern festival with my friends because “Tangled” is my favorite Disney movie and I love star gazing.

2. Find or create the best pancake recipe.

3. Become a travel physical therapist, and hopefully get to work in Hawaii or Tennessee.

Big 10: High school seniors' 10-year bucket lists, Part 1 (9)

1. Secure my dream job as an engineer at a major motorsports team. It’s always been my dream to be a part of Formula 1 in some capacity and I feel my talents and knowledge would be best suited for an engineering position at one of these teams.

2. Travel the world. This may come with the first one. Maybe I will find the place I want to settle down in on my journeys.

3. Live in a city. I don’t really care where, but I want to spend my young years in a large urban area with lots of opportunities for jobs and social life.

Big 10: High school seniors' 10-year bucket lists, Part 1 (10)

1. Travel to Hawaii and swim in the ocean.

2. Get tickets and attend a concert. More specifically, Tailgate N’ Tallboys Country Music Festivals or Taylor Swift.

3. Run in one of Renee Noe’s running clubs. I will be joining the cross country and track teams at Eastern Illinois this fall. Running in one of these clubs would be so cool and fun. The closest one from here is in Chicago.
