The new restaurant was built to replace the existing, restaurant on North Memorial Drive which has been serving the Lancaster community since 1979. 1 20 YEARS AGO The Fairfield County District Board of Health rejected Paul Rose Paul Rose, 84, of Thornville, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, surrounded by his family and friends.
Paul was born Feb. 23, 1924, in Irid, Ky. He was a driver for Greyhound Corp. for 36 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church of Thurston and past member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church of Liberty, Ky, First Baptist Church of Sunbury, Amalgamated Transit Union and Thornville Masonic Lodge 521 AM.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Agnes Graff Rose; two children, Timothy Miller of Thornville and Trina (Wayne) Cagg of Baltimore; three grandchildren, Zachary and Abigail Cagg of Baltimore and Stacey (Eric) Hysell of Rushville; great-grandson, Jacob Hysell; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Ellen Chaffin Rose of Louisa, Ky; and 14 brothers and sisters. A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Nov. 22 at Fairfield Baptist Church, 7991 Old Millersport Road.

30 YEARS AGO Local businessman M.H. Brown and his wife, Helen, established a $40,000 scholarship for Ohio State University agricultural students. The Lancaster Police Department received a $6,840 state grant toward the purchase of burglary-robbery program equipment, which included electronic stake-out units. He is survived by five children, Bill C. Young of California, Jo Regina Young Blanton (Don) of New Lexington, Mar-jorie Young of New Lexington and Mary Young of Georgia; Tom Rinehart of Pennsylvania; brother, John; sister, Betty Jo Miller of Lancaster; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Ernestine (Teen) and infant daughter, Judy. A memorial service will be Thursday at AMVETS Post 1776 in Logan to celebrate and honor his life and service to his country. Faye Janie Kaiser Paul Calver Faye Janie Kaiser, 82, of Coshocton peacefully passed away surrounded by family members on Monday, Nov. 3, 2008 at 4 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Janie Keaton. She was born May 26, 1926, in Mason, W.Va., the Paul R. Calvert, 88, of Sugar Grove passed away Friday, Nov.
14, 2008, at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born July 12, 1920, in Lancaster to the late Raymond C. and Anna P. (Kistler) Calvert. Paul served in the Brand new classified ads appearing for the first time today! U.S Navy during World War II in the South Pacif ic Theater.
He worked as a mold maker for more than 40 years at Stuck Mold Shop. Paul was a member of the Baltimore VFW Post 3761. Survivors include his wife Frances B.
