ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY FIRE-RESCUE SEEKS EXPERIENCED CAPTAIN.
The Captain position is responsible for assisting with the operations of the department; managing effective relationships with volunteer and career personnel; assisting with Emergency Management for the County; responding as the Duty Officer to emergencies, as necessary; and providing Advanced Life Support, when requested. Successful candidates will have extensive knowledge of Fire and EMS best practices; emergency management and progressive supervisory experience in Fire and EMS positions; strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Associates or Technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required; coursework in fire science, EMS, or
business management or administration preferred. Requirements include Virginia Intermediate or Paramedic Certification and Fire Officer II (III preferred); NIMS and ICS; valid Virginia Drivers License; EVOC.
Starting salary range: $67,350- $71,000. Rockbridge County offers a competitive benefits package including paid holidays/vacation/sick leave and VRS Hazardous Duty Retirement.
