Pumpkin Spice Cheerios Breakfast Bars Recipe (1)

September officially kicks off "pumpkin everything" season, and my friends at General Mills sent me the new limited edition Pumpkin Spice Cheerios. They're made from real pumpkin puree and a delicious blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. The blend is great on its own, but it's magical and when paired with peanut butter, honey, and a little extra cinnamon.

I've made the Peanut Butter Breakfast Bites from Six Sisters' Stuff in the past andlove the way theytaste, so I used that recipe as the inspiration for this one. Instead of bites, I wanted to make bars that would be a bit more portable and sturdy for my toddlers and Ichanged a few other things as well. Instead of Peanut Butter Whole Grain or regular Cheerios, I used the Pumpkin SpiceCheerios toshake things up.I also used Creamy Honey Roasted Peanut Butter in lieu of regular, crunchy peanut butter because I just love the way it tastes.

The best part of this whole recipe is that there's no baking required! You simply melt the peanut butter and that's the extent of cooking required.

Once your bars are chilled, you can cut them into any size or shape you'd like. I simply made square and rectangular bars so they could be easily handled by my little ones.

Even my husband gave these Cheerios breakfast bars rave reviews. He's not a big breakfast eater, but he had a few the morning I whipped these up.

They're so easy to make that I have a feeling we'll be making them pretty often. I also plan to experiment with other flavors of Cheerios. I think this recipe would also be great with Multi-Grain Dark Chocolate Cheerios and Cheerios Protein Oats and Honey.

I did not know that cheerios has pumpkin flavor. These companies are spoiling "Pumpkin flavors" for me! Everywhere you turn turn there is Pumpkin this or Pumpkin that. Its just to much.

I will be making these bars without the pumpkin

I tried the pumpkin spice cereal with milk, i did not like it. I did not want to waste the cereal. Thankfully i came across your recipe. I tried it before i put it in my refrigerator. It was bit on the sweet side, but it was good. I made this got my hubby and my don and I.

My 'bars' didn't produce bars, they fell apart. Now I have Pumpkin Cheerio's peanut butter cereal. 🙁 Tastes good, just wish they would be bars.
