Arlington Christian church was the scene of the wedding of Miss Carolyn Kidd daughter of Mr and Mrs Hugh Kidd of Lexington and Gayle Earl Taft son of Mr and Mrs John Joseph Taft of Lexington hich took place at 2 30 o'clock Sunday afternoon The Rev Anderson officiated The church was decorated with spring flowers and the altar was banked with arrangements of lilies and fern A program of nuptial selections was presented by Miss Betty Hamioy vocalist and Miss Rene King organist Given in marriage by her brother-in-law Estill Sloan the bride wore a ballerina length dress of white organdy fashioned with a high neckline and short cap sleev She wore white linen accessories and a Juliet cap with a shoulder length veil She carried a bouquet of white roses tied ith satin streamers iss Ruth Christian church was the scene at 4 30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon of the marriage of Miss Jo Ann Rhodes daughter of Mr and Mrs Marion Marshall Rhodes of Flemingsburg and Roger Bourland Jr son of Mr and Mrs Roger Bourland of Greenville formerly of Lexington Dr Leslie Smith pastor of Central Christian church Lexington read the nuptial service A program of traditional wedding selections was presented by Miss Barbara Shafer vocalist and Miss Ann Huddleston organist The church was decorated with fcrns paims and white gladioli Mr Rhodes gave his daughter in marriage Her gown of antique ivory- satin w-as designed with an off-the-shoulder neckline of marquisette Chantilly lace bertha fitted bodice long sleeves tapered over th- wrists and full hooped kirt teiminating in a long train From her Juliet fell a tiered veil of illusion appliqued with lace She carried a fan of Chantilly lace decorated with a white orchid stephanotis and white ribbons The maid of honor Miss Betty-Fish of Williamsburg wore a frock of powder blue organdy over taffeta made with a bouffant skirt bodice finished with rows of pleated ruffles high round neckline and short sleeves Her small braided bonnet was of matching organdy She carried a blue organdy fan trimmed with summer flowers The bridesmaids were Miss Ar-dis Ann Bourland of Greenville the bridegroom sister Nancy Richards of Beckley Va Miss Betty Jean Stout of Flemingsburg and Mrs Phillip Thompson of Lexington Their blue oigandy dresses and bonnets were similar in design to those worn bv iss Fish and they also carried blue organdy fans Mr Bourland served his son as best man and the ushers were Jack Browder of Fulton 1C Russell of Liberty Cecil Howard of Harlan and Randy Storms of Fort Toomas The ceremony- was followed by a reception at the home of the brides parents The couple ill reside in Still-water Okia The bride is a graduate of Christian College Columbia Mo and of the University of Kentuckv where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority Mr Bourland attended Vanderbilt University where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity: Transylvania College and Oklahoma A and where he is now a student Swetnam-Bloomfield Wedding Plans
